14 September 2009 By Peter Young | TinyURL TM

In this Pointer, we will study the remaining four dimensions of the words LOVE which is mentioned over 700 times in the Bible.

4) LOVE EXPRESSED

‘Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?”. He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”’ John 21: 17

‘God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.’ Hebrews 6 : 10

5) LOVE MISDIRECTED

‘Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love these things, you show that you do not really love God.’ 1 John 2 : 15

‘For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.’ 1 Timothy 6 :10

6) LOVE MISSING

‘Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me.”’ John 8 : 43

‘If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen”’ 1 John 4 : 20

7) LOVE PRAYERS

‘Do not withhold your mercy from me, O Lord; may your love and your truth always protect me.’ Psalm 40:11

‘May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.’ 2 Corinthians 13: 14

In these 7 Dimensions, we have examined only 14 of the over 700 verses in the Bible which refer to the word LOVE. May this whet our appetite to discover and experience more of the amazing love which God has for us individually, his church and his world.
