Heaven Bound

29 November 2009 By Peter Young | TinyURL TM

As I write this PPP at 5.20pm on Sunday, 29th November 2009, my wife, Betty, is very near to the end of her earthly journey. We know that she is HEAVEN BOUND and the following DEVOTIONAL is taken from:

“DAILY IN YOUR IMAGE” by Rebecca Jordan, published by Barbour Publishing, Inc and is used by permission.

HEAVEN BOUND

‘But our citizenship is in heaven.’ Philippians 3:20

FROM THE FATHER’S HEART

My child, did you know that you are in a lifetime school of learning? My heart’s desire is that you will become heaven bound – realising that this life is only a temporary dwelling place and preparation for eternity. Setting your heart on heaven diminishes your disappointments here on earth and strengthens your hope for a better day. I have been building My character in you one day at a time – so that one day, you will truly be like your Father in your real home in heaven.

FROM A SEEKING HEART

Father, I try to visualise it all – golden streets, jewelled gates, angelic chorus, bright lights, white robes. But most of all, seeing You – face-to-face. No other joy compares; no other treasure equals its value; no other thought consumes me like the anticipation of seeing You, Lord, in all Your glory. Indeed, I am heaven bound, and I know that every pain, loss, injustice, and disappointment will fade when I hear those final words, “Welcome home, Child! I’ve been waiting for you.”

  1. Peter and Ruth Says:

    Dear Peter,
We received your generous and precious gift of “Before I Fall Asleep and Betty’s Poems today.Thank you. You have both been very precious to our memory.
Remember your mission in 1965 at Teluk Anson? The fruits of that have gone worldwide and reproduced multi-fold in the lives of those who became Christians at that one time. Remember when you and Betty acted as Ruth’s “parents” at our wedding in 1966? Not everyone thought we would make it! Forty-four years later we continue to enjoy a beautiful relationship and marriage! Four children have become four families, all Christian and committed!
We are sad to know, especially for you, that Betty has passed on; however, we do not grieve as those without hope and the Lord is wonderfully able to fill the void. Thank you both for your lives which have always blessed and inspired us. We look forward to that great re-union when, “we shall see His face”. Sincerely in Christ, Peter and Ruth
