The Micah Mandate needs your support.

“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.” Luke 2:14

This was the praise of the angels on the night Jesus Christ was born. God gave to the world (every member of the human family) the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ and in return, Jesus Christ was the only person who in every feature of his sinless earthly life and death gave this glory back to God his Father.

GLORY (Greek DOXA) =

1) distinction, eminence, honour;

2) beauty, brilliance, grandeur, greatness, majesty, radiance, splendour

3) adoration, blessing, exultation, homage, praise, thanksgiving, worship

1. THE GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST

1. JESUS DISPLAYED GOD’S GLORY ON EARTH

1. By his person

‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.’ John 1:14

2. By his ministry

Jesus said to his Father as he prayed, “I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.” John 17:4

3. By his death

Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.” John 12:23. See also John 12:28

2. JESUS IS CROWNED WITH GLORY AND HONOUR

“But we see Jesus, who is made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honour because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God, he might taste death for everyone. Hebrews 2:9

3. JESUS WILL COME AGAIN WITH GLORY

(This coming is not to SAVE but to JUDGE)

“At that time, men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.” Mark 13:26

2. CHRISTIANS AND GLORY

1. OUR LIVES SHOULD BRING GLORY TO GOD THE FATHER

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:8

2. WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN GLORY SO THAT WE MAY LOVE EACH OTHER

Jesus says to his Father in his prayer for all believers, “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:” John 17:22

3. WE WILL BE WITH CHRIST AND SEE HIS GLORY

Jesus also prays, “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24

May we who have received the gift of Jesus Christ display his glory in our lives.
