Lovers of the English language, as we look around us, are sometimes tempted to smile at the number of English words that have been adapted and found their way into the Bahasa Malaysia-Bahasa Inggeris section of the Kamus Dwibahasa Oxford Fajar:
Bas
Lori
Pos
Sekolah
Stesen
Teksi
But lovers of the English language must realize that many English words derived from Latin or Greek (and other sources) can be found in the Concise Oxford Dictionary:
Atheist (Greek, a=not, theos=god)
Bible (Greek, biblion=book)
Creed (Latin, credo=I believe)
Doctrine (Latin, doctrina=teaching)
Hymn (Greek, humnos=song of praise)
Mission (Latin, mission=send)
The possible moral – which can also apply to many other situations – ‘PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASSHOUSES SHOULD NOT THROW STONES!’

The Micah Mandate is a Christian-based public interest advocacy ministry that seeks a transformation of our nation through justice, mercy and humility.
