The Christian Federation of Malaysia extends its heart-felt condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives tragically in the landslide which hit the Al-Taqwa orphanage near Kajang on Saturday.

The Christian community grieves with the Muslim families and will continue to pray to God to grant them peace and comfort in their moment of loss of their children whose future was so suddenly cut short.

Let us as Malaysians rise up to help those who have suffered in such a tragedy so that we can be in solidarity with them and support them by our presence, our thoughts, our assistance and also our prayers for them.

We also strongly urge the local authorities to be vigilant and pro-active over hill-slope developments to ensure the safety and security of all in order that disasters and needless deaths be averted.

Bishop Ng Moon Hing
Chairman and the Executive Committee,
Christian Federation of Malaysia
