He delivered his first lecture in Malaysia on Sunday, 18th September 2011 at the KL Convention Centre.

Jesus Christ has much to tell us about truth and happiness.

1. TRUTH

‘I tell you the truth’ – these words of Jesus are recorded 30 times in Matthew’s Gospel and 28 times in John’s Gospel. Jesus also said :
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14: 6, NIV)

31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8: 31 – 32, NIV)

2. HAPPINESS OR BLESSEDNESS

The Greek word ‘makarios’ – is translated in King James version of the New Testament ‘blessed’ 43 times and ‘happy’ 6 times. The Christian understanding of true happiness is not just an emotion dependent on outward circumstances, but rather a state of being blessed by God.

1 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.

He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5: 1-10, NIV)

7 “Blessed are those
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them. (Romans 4: 7 – 8, NIV)

‘Seek (truth and happiness) and you will find’. But, of course, you must know where to search!
